George Lee Marlowe

George Lee Marlowe, age 75 of Martinsville died Tuesday, April 17, 2012. He was preceded in death by his mother, Fannie Marlowe; and grandparents, Payton and Mary Marlowe. George retired after 30 years service with E.I. DuPont. He enjoyed part-time employment following retirement with Harris Nursery, then Patrick Henry Community College where he was employed for 12 years. He was a faithful member of Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren and enjoyed watching and playing Baseball. Surviving are his wife, Patricia Walker Marlowe; son and daughter-in-law, Todd and Teresa Marlowe; daughter, Pamela Marlowe; grandchildren, Ashley and Kelly Marlowe; along with many other family members and special friends. He loved his family and grandchildren very much. Funeral services will be conducted from Boones Chapel Church of the Brethren 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. Mike Gallimore officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Boones Chapel Church, c/o Jeremy Adkins, 16405 Snow Creek Road, Penhook, Va. 24137. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
