Marjorie Edith Holland, age 78 of Redwood went to be with her heavenly Father while surrounded by her family on Monday, April 2, 2018. She was a member of Wirtz Assembly of God where she loved to go every Sunday she could to praise and glorify her Lord and Saviour. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, James and Edna Simpson; brother, Tony  Simpson. She is survived by the love of her life of 60 years her husband Perry; her children, Keth Holland, Cindy Templin (Harvey) Carolyn Bollings (Charles), Melvin Holland and friend Jamie; brothers, John Simpson (Diane), Windy Simpson, Artie Simpson and Kent Hall; sisters, Bonny Wheeler (Phil), Bertha Hammock (Gordon),  Sandra  Turman and Sister in Christ, Rita Hall; grandchildren, Steven St.Clair (Jen), Brandon Chitwood (Melia), Ryan Bollings (Stephanie), Brian Adams, Danielle Holland, (Matthew) Olivia Holland, Nick Bollings, and Alexis Bollings; great-grandchildren, Leah, Kyra, and Aiden St, Clair, Reid, Sawyer and Elsie Chitwood, Brayden Goodman, Landon, Grayson, and Emma; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends. Marjorie (Granny) was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother  Her family both immediate and distant meant the world to her. There was not many if any she didn't leave without saying she loved them. She and Dad (Perry) put their families well being before anything in life. She needed to know that each and every single one was safe, happy, healthy and loved but most importantly saved. She often shared her love of her Lord and his promise of salvation and eternal life with him. Marjorie enjoyed knitting and recently knitted several hats for Red Hats For Babies for Heart Month. She made sure everyone had a knitted dishcloth and was so proud of her work. She was a wonderful cook and spent her life taking care of her family which was her job here on earth that she was meant to do. Marjorie took great pride in "her job" and performed it perfectly with unconditional love She also enjoyed quilting, sewing, flowers, collecting whatnots, gardening, and reading. You were sure to find her Bible by her bedside as she read it faithfully. She was also known as a savvy card player and  She also enjoyed the frequent visits from her neighbors, Nita, Tony, and Audrey who also referred to them as "Granny & Papa". She welcomed everyone to visit and everyone was welcome to stay and eat. No one was turned away, She had a heart of gold and showed her love to everyone she knew and met. Marjorie will be truly missed here on earth as she let her light shine brightly every single day with anyone she came across. Graveside services will be conducted at the Holland Family Cemetery, 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2018 with Rev. Denver Turner and Rev. Kevin Moore officiating. Her family will receive friends 1:30-2:30 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
