Addie Basham Dillon

Addie Basham Dillon, age 87 of Rocky Mount, VA went to be with our Lord on Tuesday, January 8, 2019. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother.  She loved and served her family and God. She was a long time member of Franklin Heights Baptist Church where she loved her Sunday School class and choir. She is preceded in death by her husband, Frank Dillon; her parents, Oglesby and Madeline Basham. She is also preceded in death by brothers, Robert, Aubrey and twin brother Alcoy Basham; infant brother, Esker; sisters, Frances Bobbitt, Gertrude Fletcher, Dorothy Layne and Audrey Branch. Survived by her children; Tracy Dillon, Greg Dillon and wife, Debra; her grandchildren, Morgan and her husband Jeff McCarty, Layne Dillon; great granddaughter, Izabella Layne McCarty. She is also survived by brothers, Frank and Johnny Basham; sister, Barbara Bostic; plus many nieces and nephews. Addie and her husband owned and operated Frank's Café (Frank and Addie's Café) for over 50 years. She was a Scout leader, coached recreational sports and member of the Ladies Auxiliary Recreational Committee, American Business Women's Association and the Lunch Bunch. The family wishes to thank all of her caregivers and Medi Home and Hospice. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Friday, January 11, 2019 at Flora Funeral Service. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
