Alan Russell

Alan Russell (Monkey), age 62 of Rocky Mount passed away Sunday, June 10, 2018. He was born February 16, 1956 a son of the late Don and Jean Russell. He was also preceded in death by his father-in-law, Herman Hunt; former father-in-law Gary Dudley; and former wife, Anne Dudley Russell. Surviving are his wife, Susan Russell; daughters, Jessica Gardner (Will) and Kristen Spencer (Tanner); step-daughter, Lindsay Young; sister Janet Scott; brothers, Bill Russell (Deborah) and Gray Russell; grandchildren, Ryder, Raegan, Siena, Libby, Griffin, Ora, John Tanner, Taylor and Reid; nieces and nephews, Travis (Kyle) Russell, Trent Russell, Kelly (Brandon) Uttley and Chase (Jessie) Scott; step-mother Wyleen Russell; mother-in-law, Marie Hunt; and former mother-in-law, Shirley T. Dudley. Alan was a long time beef cattle farmer who loved hard work but had a tender heart. He was very smart and multitalented and could fix most anything. He also had a sharp tongue, always with a quick comeback. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Interment will follow in the Bennett-Dudley Family Cemetery. His family will receive friends 5:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
