Algie Dorothy Shively

Algie Dorothy Shively, age 84 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, October 20, 2011. She was born February 7, 1927 a daughter of the late, Charles and Annie Rigney Hodges. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Coleman Shively; sister, Renell Motley; and brothers, Stuart and Randolph Hodges. Dorothy worked at Wendy’s for 12 years faithfully serving the customers. Surviving are her children, Judy Valdez, Janice LaPrade, Debra Joaquin; foster daughter, Donna Blankenship; brother, Richard Hodges and wife Brenda; sister, Frances Curry; six grandchildren, Charles LaPrade, Wayne Hodges, Michelle Newman, Phyllis Reyes, Lenora Silva, Cindy Bonilla; 10 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Henry Fork Church of the Brethren 2 p.m. Monday with Pastor Scott Dawson and Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the Rigney Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Sunday at Henry Fork Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
