Alice Beckner McGuire, age 69 of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord Friday May 4, 2007.
She was born May 9, 1937 to the late Buford Thomas and Elizabeth Harrison Beckner. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a daughter Kathy Herrera; and numerous brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her children Lonnie C. Rigney and wife Kathy, Rex M. Rigney, Stacy R. McGuire, and Rhonda L. Blackwood; grandchildren Brian, Cliff and wife Shannon, Greg, and Julia; one great-grandchild Ashley; former husband and special friend Reggie C. Rigney; numerous brothers, sisters, nieces and nephews.
Alice will be greatly missed by all that knew her. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Diabetes Association, 530 East Main St., Suite 200, Richmond, VA 23219.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Monday with Rev. Marla Moore officiating.
Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call after 12 p.m. Sunday with her family receiving friends from 7-9 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
