Allene Hawks Perdue

Allene Hawks Perdue, age 83, of Glade Hill, VA, passed away Saturday, November 13 ^th , 2021, peacefully at home with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Orval Perdue, Sr., her parents, Carlie and Mamie Hawks, sister, Sue Gilley and brother, Carl Hawks. She is survived by her loving children, Sandra Broughman (Mike), James Orval  Perdue, Jr. (Brenda), Kimberly Hancock, Johnny Perdue, and Jane Hodges (Kenny); nine grandchildren, Nicole Webb, Michael Broughman, Shane Broughman, Robert Perdue (Nicole), Wesley Perdue (Hayleigh), Jessica Shelton (Dylan Adkins), Jacob Hancock (Ashlee), Lindsey McPherson, Amee Hodges (Justine); 16 great-grandchildren, Christopher, Samantha, Chandler, Arnold, Tristan, Wesley, Eleanor, Clyde, Kinleigh, Parker, Trent, Brodie, Logan, Aubree, Israel and Raleigh, and two great-great grandchildren, Marilyn and Skyler. She is also survived by her sisters, Peggy Moore and Martha Wigginton; brother, George Hawks; and brothers-in-law, Wendell Perdue, Chloris Perdue and Garry Perdue. Allene was a longtime member of Redwood United Methodist Church and was retired from the Henry Fork Service Center after 36 years of service. The family would like to extend our warmest heartfelt thanks to all of the special angels at Intrepid Hospice. We cannot thank you enough for the love and care you gave our mom and for being there for us in everything. Funeral services will be conducted at Redwood United Methodist Church 3 p.m. Wednesday with Revs. Clayton and Sarah Payne officiating. Interment will follow in the Perdue Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
