Allyn Gray Riddle, 18, of Rocky Mount, Virginia was tragically taken from us on August 18, 2017. Allyn is survived by his parents, father Tom Riddle and mother and step father Allyson Riddle-Owens and James Owens, his big brother Austin Riddle, step sisters: Brandy Owens (wife Angie), Taylor Owens and Kailey Owens, Grandparents: G.O. (Woody) and Joyce Woodlief, Jolene Riddle, and Brenda Owens, Aunts: Malinda Turner, Kaye Hale, Felicia Allred, and Eva Wood (husband Bob) Uncles: Ricky Allred (wife Rebekah), Don Riddle, Jr., Cousins: Billy Riddle, Chris Riddle (wife Coree), Tanner Hale, and many, many more. He was predeceased by his Paternal Grandparents Don and Kitty Riddle, and his Maternal grandfather J.C. (Dick) Allred. Allyn was born August 25, 1998 in Roanoke, Virginia. He graduated from Franklin County High School in 2016 and aspired to become a Military Police Officer in the United States Navy and was currently working at UPS in Roanoke. Allyn was born and raised in Franklin County, VA and saw beauty in things that others would overlook. He cherished his friends, he loved to hike, he loved music, and it was complete joy to watch him play soccer. Allyn always smiled and his laughter was purely magical. He had his own style, he was truly unique. Our physical time with you is over now son. I consider myself proud and lucky to have been chosen by God to have had the pleasure of being your mother. The loss of a child is something no one should endure and yet, I take comfort knowing Allyn was a Christian - and when my sweet son was taken and his last breath released - the next sound must have been the flutter of angel's wings. Dr. David Jerimiah wrote, "God will dispatch His angels at just the right time, and they'll meet us just within the veil and carry us to the heights of His glory." You are absent from us but present with our Lord. You will always be remembered my son - with all of my heart - you are loved. Rather than flowers, should friends desire, I think Allyn would like a contribution be made to the Appalachian Trail Conservancy. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 4:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. with a memorial service to follow at 6:30 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
