Alma Victoria Johnson

Alma Victoria Smith Johnson, age 91 of Rocky Mount died Monday, December 15, 2014. She was born November 8, 1923 and was preceded in death by her parents, Sam Tom Smith and Ida Holland Smith; husband of 61 years, Benjamin Harry Johnson; two sons, Benjamin Jayhugh Johnson (Twin) and Gerry Vernon Johnson; two brothers, Tommie Lee Smith and wife Paris Dillon Smith, William Ray Smith. She was a member of Gills Creek Primitive Baptist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Joyce Ann Jones and Cecil Virgil "Fuggy" Jones; sons, Brown Jarman Johnson (Twin) and friend Patricia; Malcolm Randal Johnson and Wilma; two daughters-in-law, Teresa Johnson, Mary Jane Johnson; 13 grandchildren, Kathy L. Pagans (Jimmy), Barry Jones (Dana), Deedy Sigmon (Mark), Keith Johnson, Lisa Greer (Don Hodges), Tammy Radford and husband, Alma Christine Sloan, Gary Jr Johnson, Diana Marie White (Chris), Richard Johnson (Crystal), Star Johnson Young (Shawn), Travis Johnson, Trevor Johnson; 23 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday with Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
