Alton “A.J” Joseph Jones

Alton Joseph Jones “A.J”, age 80 Rocky Mount passed away on Saturday, August 4, 2018. He loved the Lord, family and the farm! He was preceded in death by his mother, Annie Lee Jones; father, Herbert Jones; two daughters, Betty Jones and Janet Stump; grandson, Adam Nichols; brothers, Junior, Billy and Paul; sisters, Mary Altice, Pauline Nichols and Ethel Robertson; brothers-in-law, Tom Robertson and Norman Moore; daughter-in-law, Michelle Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Joyce Jones; two children, Joey Jones and Ann Nichols; three grandchildren, Allen and (Tabitha), Matthew and Rebecca; eight great-grandchildren, Lili, William, Emily, Lauryn, Thaydon, Madison, Eli and Phillip; sister, Dee Moore; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Jones; special niece, Mildred Pagans who help us with his care. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 2:00 p.m., Monday, August 6, 2018 with Pastor David Smith and Pastor Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends, Sunday from 4-6 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
