Amanda Custer

Heather Amanda Brubaker Custer, beloved wife, mother, daughter was born November 2, 1977 and passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. She was a cherished member of the Callaway Community and will be missed by the Pre-K class at Callaway Elementary School. Amanda was known for her kind loving heart. Her unwavering support for her family, friends and her passion for anything and everything, she put her mind to. She was a dedicated educator at the Callaway Elementary School, participating in the PTO and volunteering with the Good News Club. She was predeceased by her father-in-law, Jerry Custer; special cousin, Jennifer Thomas; grandparents, Riley and Junie Brubaker and Corbin and Clara (John) Hatcher. Amanda is survived by her loving husband, Jonathan Custer; her sons, Brandon Custer, Logan Custer and Grayson Custer who were her life; her loving parents, Cline and Mary Lee Brubaker; her loving mother-in-law, Tricia Custer; and her special loving sisters, Emily Messenger and Becky Loan. Our dear sweet Amanda, we love you and will always miss you!! In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Callaway Volunteer Fire Department, P.O. Box 1, Callaway, Virginia 24067 or Highland United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 34, Callaway, Virginia 24067. Funeral services will be conducted at Highland United Methodist Church 11 a.m. Saturday, October 5, 2024 with Chaplain Rick Poland and Pastor Laurice Jones-Wilks officiating. Interment will follow in the Custer Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. Friday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
