Andrew Daren Jones

Andrew Daren Jones, age 42 of Ferrum passed away Tuesday, March 14, 2017 surrounded by family and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Jones; grandparents, Benjamin and Catherine Johnson, Frank and Ophelia Jones; and step-grandmother, Bernice Jones. Surviving are his son, Gabriel Jones; father, Coy Jones and special friend Sue Whorley; sister, Carrie Altice (Brian); nieces, Callie, Catie and Brylie Altice; and nephew, Branson Altice; aunts and uncles, Buddy Johnson, Becky and Dana Keener, Rhoda Leyland, Betty and Larry Higley, Danny and Brenda Jones, Sammy and Betty Mae Jones, Nancy and Allen Shoemaker; many cousins and special friends. Andy was a graduate of Franklin County High School Class of 1993 and Roanoke College Class of 1997 where he was active in Sigma Chi Fraternity. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Friday with Dr. Stan Parris officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the Andy Jones Scholarship Fund c/o American National Bank and Trust Co., 400 Old Franklin Turnpike, Suite 100, Rocky Mount, Virginia 24151 for the benefit of a FCHS Senior attending Roanoke College. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
