Georgia Ann Matthews Haskins, age 76 of Penhook, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on Monday, February 20, 2023. Surviving Ann is her husband, Ronnie S. Haskins, and daughter Tracey Haskins Fralin of Penhook. She is also survived by her sisters, Norma M. Ramsey, Judy M. Reynolds and Bonnie M. Reynolds (Sammie) of Chatham. Also surviving are Sandra H. Jones (Raymond), Barry Haskins (Jeanette), Rita H. Martin (Terry), Pam H. Haskins (Robert), Bonnie H. Haskins (Johnny), Perry Haskins (Carol Anne) and Gloria Haskins along with several special nieces, nephews and friends and one uncle, Jimmy Matherly of Martinsville. Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Matherly Matthews, brothers, Merritt, Allen, Wesley (Ola), Wade, Randy and Richard “Muggs” Matthews, one sister, Emily M. Jefferson (Ford), brothers-in-law, Don Ramsey, Jerry Lee Reynolds and Trent Haskins; nephews, Jeffrey Matthews, James "Beans" Matthews and Steve Jefferson. Ann was a lifelong member of Forrest Hill Christian Church. She retired from DuPont with 30 years of service. She was kindhearted and loving to all and will be greatly missed. The family extends a special thanks to Mountain Valley Hospice and nurse Rita. Funeral services will be held at Forrest Hill Christian Church 3:00 p.m. Sunday, February 26, 2023. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will be receiving friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. prior to the service. The family requests no food, and memorial donations may be made to Forrest Hill Christian Church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
