Ann Scott Haynes, age 73 of Roanoke passed away peacefully at home on Friday, March 26, 2021 after a courageous nine-month battle with cancer. Ann dedicated her life to her family and gave unconditional love to them as a daughter, sister, wife, mother, and grandmother.

Preceded in death by her parents, John F. and Irene Scott, Ann will be greatly missed by all who knew her and were enriched by her caring nature and her joyful humor. She is survived by her beloved husband, James; sons, Clay (Nikki) and Scott (Ruth); grandchildren, Clay Jr., Jared, Jack, Jordan, Amanda, twins Jayden and Jonathon, and Josh; sister, Kathy Porter (Donnie); beloved nieces; and best friend, Ann Moir, with whom Ann enjoyed a cherished, sisterly-type relationship from the age of 10.

Ann touched many people throughout her life, including a multitude of friends who came to admire her feisty spirit and unerring loyalty. Following a career in industrial sales, her later professional years were spent working with husband Jim in their business, Haynes Design & Restoration.

Very special thanks go to Encompass Health of Roanoke, VA, who provided invaluable home therapeutic services, and Good Samaritan Hospice, also of Roanoke, VA, and their staff of angels. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to Good Samaritan Hospice. A celebration of life will be held at Colonial Presbyterian Church on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 2 pm, presided by Pastor Brent Williams.
