Ann Via Sigmon

Ann Via Sigmon, age 82 of Ferrum passed away at her residence on Friday, March 8, 2019. She was born June 2, 1936 a daughter of the late Fred and Lessie Carter Via. She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Hazel Via Hale, Nellie Prillaman Rush; brother-in-law, Bobby Beeghly. Ann is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Laymon Cleo Sigmon; children, Sandra Sigmon Lawson (Eddie), Brenda Sigmon, Cleo Sigmon (Becky); grandchildren, Angie Williams (David), Dakota Sigmon, Mitchell Sigmon and Blaine Sigmon; great-grandchild, Morgan Robertson; and sister, Ada Via Beeghly; brothers-in-law, Roy “Jr.” Hale, Frank Rush. Ann attended Henry Elementary School and Rocky Mount High School. She enjoyed her career as a van driver with the Franklin County Department of Aging. She was a member of the Patrick Henry Saddle Club; and enjoyed quilting, scrap-booking and spending time with her grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Chapel 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, March 12, 2019 with Pastor Tim Hylton officiating. Interment will follow at Republican Church Cemetery in Ferrum.
