Anna Elizabeth Cochran Brooks, age 63 of Glade Hill went to be with her Lord and loved ones who passed before her on Monday, March 19, 2007.
She was born September 15, 1943 in Tazewell, Virginia and was a member of Crafts United Methodist Church.
Ann touched the lives of many during her long and courageous battle with cancer. Throughout life Ann loved well and brought joy to others. In faith, Ann taught us how to live with hope and happiness and how to die with dignity and peace. Ann’s life was a celebration of faith, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents Arch and Clara Cochran; and brothers, Jack and Jim Cochran.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of 38 years, Mike Brooks; daughter and son-in-law, April and Hung Nguyen; her grandson Dylan Nguyen, all of Glade Hill; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bill and Phyllis Cochran, Mt. View, Missouri, George and Carole Cochran, Belton, Texas; sister-in-law, Joyce Cochran, Rockville, Maryland; her mother-in-law, Frances Brooks; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Wincel and Kathleen Brooks; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Diane and Glen Sink; aunts, uncles, numerous nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a host of very special friends.
A celebration of Ann’s life will be conducted from Redwood United Methodist Church 2 p.m. Saturday, March 24, 2007 with Rev. Judy Short and Rev. Rick Poland officiating.
A reception will be held after the service in the Fellowship Hall, where the family will receive friends.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorial contributions in Ann’s name to Franklin County Department of Aging, 136 Tanyard Road, Rocky Mount, VA 24151.
