Loving, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Mother, Anna Jean Crum Hudson Lawrence, age 75 of Roanoke passed away Friday, April 15, 2016 at Pheasant Ridge Rehabilitation and Nursing Facility in Roanoke, VA. She is predeceased by her parents, Luke and Lera Crum; and sister-in-law, Betty Crum. Anna is survived by her daughters, Denise Hudson Hurst, Kim Brown (David) and Sandi Churn (John); her grandchildren, Emily and Brennan Hurst, Dalton and Anna Brown, Caitlin and Madi Churn, all of Rocky Mount, VA; brother, Emory Crum, Roanoke, VA; niece, Joanna Brown (Gip) and a very special cousin, Linda Faye Waybright, Vinton, VA. She was an accountant for many years and loved her work. She began her career as an employee of Pete Foster at Franklin Grocery and Grain in Rocky Mount, VA. She accomplished a great deal in her lifetime becoming CFO and General Manager of an international company in Salem, VA before retiring. She was a wonderful and loving Mother to her three girls and devoted Granny to her six grandchildren. Anna enjoyed home improvement, sewing and gardening. She was a compassionate and caring person who would go out of her way to help anyone in need. As a two time cancer survivor, she faced Alzheimer's with the same determination and grace. As Anna lost her ability to communicate, her daughters could still feel their Mother's love in her touch and see it in her eyes. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P.O. Box 96011, Washington, DC 20090. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral Chapel with Chaplain Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
