Anne Hilton Snead, age 87 of Boones Mill died Thursday, October 15, 2015. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Andrew Davis “Dave” Snead; and her parents, Harry and Elsie Hilton. Surviving are her children, Judy and Bob Prettyman, Susan and Willie Mitchell, Paul and Donna Snead, Andrew and Denna Snead; grandchildren, Nathan, Sarah, Lynn, Michelle, Chelsea, Lauren, Amanda, Jamie and Julie; 10 great-grandchildren; sister, Muriel Wragg and family of England; brother-in-law, Elmore and Brenda Snead; and sister-in-law, Martha Ann and Claude Tuggle. Anne was born in England where she met her husband in 1945 while he was stationed there during World War II. She was a member of Highland United Methodist Church. She faithfully served alongside her husband for 23 years during his ministry. Even after his passing she continued to serve the people in her church where she taught Sunday School for many years. She also served in her community where she was a longstanding member of the Garden Club. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral services will be conducted from Highland United Methodist Church 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Amy Pannell, Rev. Larry Mann, Rev. Bob Sowder officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Hartie Price Education Fund at Highland or Highland United Methodist Church. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
