Annette C. Mullins, age 82 of Henry went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, March 18, 2026. She was preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Kenneth Mullins; her precious daughter, Emily Mullins Jamison; her parents, James Ryland Coleman and Eva Young Coleman; and her brother, Carlos Coleman.
Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Melissa “Missy” Prillaman (Steve); four grandchildren, Kenner Prillaman (Taylor), Kasey Prillaman, and Taylor and Hayden Jamison; her son-in-law, Edward Jamison; one great-grandchild, Easton Prillaman; and her sisters, Rebecca Wagoner (Kenneth), Margie Frith (Dan), and Phyllis Greenway.
She loved the Lord. Her girls, grandchildren and great-grandchild were her pride and joy.
Annette was a faithful member and servant of Henry Baptist Church for over 60 years. She served as a pianist, Sunday School teacher, and Music leader. When she and Kenneth owned the store in Henry (A&K), she loved organizing Easter egg hunts for the community. Easter was her favorite holiday. Although she never learned to drive, she always made sure her girls were in church every Sunday, even if they had to walk. She took great pride in caring for her girls and her husband. She was always there for her family. Her faithfulness played an essential role in leading others to Christ. When her health no longer allowed her to attend church, she still desired to stay informed and requested a copy of the Sunday bulletin each week.
She enjoyed playing the piano and provided lessons to many for 30 years, both in her home and at Ferrum College in her early years. She loved gospel music, especially Bill and Gloria Gaither, whom she and her girls were blessed to meet.
The family expresses their sincere gratitude to her caregivers, Carla Adkins, Cynthia Boothe, Julia Ann Larsen, Mearl Boswell, Terry Parker, Betty Roberts, and Mountain Valley Hospice for their care, compassion, and support.
The family will receive friends at the home of Steve and Missy Prillaman. Donations in her memory may be made to Henry Baptist Church, 251 Henry Church Road, Henry, VA 24102.
Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Saturday, March 21, 2026 with Pastor Jonathan Haskew officiating. Interment will follow in the Mullins Family Cemetery, Henry. Her family will receive friends beginning at 9:30 a.m. prior to the service at Flora Funeral service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
