Annie Mitchell Reynolds, age 91 of Glade Hill went home to be with Lord on Monday, December 31, 2012. Annie (“Granny Annie” to her beloved family and many friends) is survived by five daughters, Jeanette Adkins and husband Junior, Patricia Greer and husband Johnnie, Brenda Tyree and husband Ronnie, Nancy Reynolds, Phyllis Tyler and husband Gwynn; and her son, C.B. Reynolds and wife Judy. Also surviving are nine grandchildren, Mark Adkins, David Adkins (Linda), Matthew Adkins, Mary Hunziker (Brad), Mike Greer (Laurie), Robert Greer (Martha), Sarah Dillon (Lynn), Tommy Amos (Debbie) and Adam Tyler (Cadance), an additional grandson-in-law, Scott Seamon; and nine great-grandchildren, Olivia Adkins, Emerson Adkins, Reece Adkins, Greyson Hunziker, Faith Hunziker, Sarah Greer, Taylor Greer, Bronson Helm, and Austin Helm. She is also survived by her loving sister, Catherine Bowles, and leaves behind many nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Annie was preceded in death by her devoted husband of 43 years, Gordon Benjamin Reynolds; her parents, Jasper Davis and Lois Cundiff Mitchell; a granddaughter, Tammy Reynolds Seamon; brothers, Howard, Dave, Clarence and Robert Mitchell; and sisters, Grace Bowles and Gelene Hudson. Annie grew up and married in the Truevine community where she and Gordon reared their family before moving to Glade Hill. She dedicated her life to her family and was happiest with them gathered around the table enjoying a home-cooked meal. She loved to cook and did it well. She also enjoyed embroidery, crocheting, and quilting. She worked hard and loved to work. A member of Glade Hill Baptist Church for 71 years, Annie loved the Lord and was always active in the mission and ministry efforts of the church. She loved serving others. Always a gracious host, she will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. The family will receive friends 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, January 2, 2013 at Glade Hill Baptist Church, 6627 Colonial Turnpike, Glade Hill, Virginia. A celebration of Annie’s life will be held at the church on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. David Long, Pastor and Rev. Adam Tyler, grandson. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family wishes to thank Annie’s many friends and loved ones, especially her daughter, Nancy, who provided constant care during her declining health. Floral remembrances will be appreciated or memorial contributions may be made to the Glade Hill Baptist Church Building Fund. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
