Annise Preston Craig, age 96 of Rocky Mount and formally of Roanoke and a widow of James William (Bill) Craig went to be with her Lord on February 6, 2008.
She loved her family, church, flowers, birds and pets. Mrs. Craig was a member of Huntington Court United Methodist Church, the United Methodist Women, the Philathea Sunday School Class, and was a retired secretary at Appalachian Power Company.
Survivors are sister-in-law, Mrs. Edward B. (Bertha) Preston, Maryland; nephews and their wives, John P. and Mary Ann Woody and Dennis T. and Mary Elizabeth Woody; nephew, Michael G. Preston all of Rocky Mount, VA; a number of other dear nephews and their wives, and great-nephews and nieces including John A., Frances, and Tony Woody and Sally, Linda, and Pam Woody.
Mrs. Craig was also preceded in death by great-nephew, Taylor C. Woody.
Funeral services will be conducted from Sherwood Memorial Chapel 11 a.m. Friday with Rev. T. Ivey Adams and Rev. Rick Poland officiating. Entombment will follow in Sherwood Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a favorite charity. The family respectfully requests no food. Special thanks to her loving caregivers at the home and at Fork Mountain Rest Home.
Her family will be receiving friends from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
