Archie Allen Chitwood, age 79 of Rocky Mount died Tuesday, November 13, 2007.
Mr. Chitwood was born April 14, 1928, a son of the late Homer and Victoria Cundiff Chitwood.
He retired from Fieldcrest Mills after thirty-five years of service and was a veteran of the US Army having served from 1948- 1952. Archie was a beloved husband and father.
Surviving are his wife Mildred Robertson Chitwood; daughter Magdalene Chitwood; two granddaughters Kayla and Kelsey Chitwood; two grandsons Ryan Dudley and Marvin Wright; sister Oneida Moran; special nephew H.D. Moran and wife Tina; nieces Laura and John Neiberlien, Hilda Moran; special niece Donna Wright and husband Marvin.
A graveside service will be conducted from the Robertson Family Cemetery 1:00 p.m. Friday with Dr. J. Cecil Riley officiating.
Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Thursday with his family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, Rocky Mount.
