On Tuesday, July 8, 2008 Archie Lee English of Rocky Mount passed from this life into his home in Heaven. He fought the good fight until the end.
He was a loving husband to wife Elizabeth for 60 years and was a loving brother, father and grandfather to all his family.
He will be greatly missed by all.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Posey and Ruth English; and a brother, Boyd English.
He is survived by his wife Elizabeth; sons, Barry and Margaret English, Rocky Mount, Gary English, Roanoke; sister, Sue and Albert Meeks, Rocky Mount; sister-in-law, Dot English, Martinsville; his grandchildren, Terry and Christi English, Amy English and Seth Bandy, Vanessa and Stephen Burnette, Stephanie and Allen Kirk; Tara English, Donovan English and Siobhan English; great-grandchildren, Maggie English, Aaron English, Jacob Burnette, Taylor Kirk and Hannah Kirk.
Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Thursday, July 10, 2008 with Pastors John Collins and Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rocky Mount First Church of the Brethren or Franklin County Rescue Squad.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday with his family receiving friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
