Arthur Bell Ellis

Arthur Bell (Pap) Ellis, age 80 of Rocky Mount died Monday, March 8, 2010. He was born September 1, 1929 son of the late Dana and Mary Bobbitt Ellis. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Andrew Ellis and John Calvin Ellis; and sister, Mary Willie Harrison. He retired from Walker Machinery Foundry in Roanoke and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving in Germany. Surviving are his sons, Wayne Ellis (Donna), Ray Ellis, Gary Lee (Chubby) Ellis; daughter, Faye Turner (Gary); the mother of his children, Shirley Ellis; grandchildren, Wayne Ellis, Jr., Amanda (Mike) Doss, Nicky Ellis (Tabitha), Travis Turner, Shannon Turner, and Dana Turner; step-grandchildren, Gary Ray and Amy; great-grandchildren, Jazlyn, Alexis, Brooklyn, Miranda; brother, Crafton Ellis (Louise); many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Wednesday with Rev. Rick Barton officiating. Interment will follow in Epworth United Methodist Church Cemetery. His family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at Flora Funeral & Cremation Service, Rocky Mount.
