Aubrey Hatcher Wingfield

Aubrey Hatcher Wingfield, age 88 of Snow Creek, Virginia was born January 15, 1933 and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Monday, January 3, 2022. He proudly served in the Navy and was a jack of all trades. He was a contractor, pilot, musician, saw-miller, craftsman, storyteller, prankster and avid outdoorsman. He loved a good meal, a good joke and a good card game. He was baptized in Dinks Ford just before entering the Navy and was a member of Boones Chapel Church. He left the same way he came- during a January snow storm. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Wingfield; grandson, Zack Adkins; parents; brothers and sisters. Surviving are his children, Debra Adkins, Raymond Wingfield, Susan Harding, Darryl Wingfield, William Wingfield, Gerald Wingfield, Heath Wingfield; grandchildren, Ashlee Adkins, Ross Wingfield, Jesse Harding, Ricky Harding, Sonny Wingfield, Ethan Wingfield, Ty Wingfield, Autumn Wingfield, Ethan Reynolds; great-grandchildren, Masen Perdue, Tinlee Perdue, Everlee Emmons, Easton Emmons, Tyler Wingfield, Sadie Wingfield, Kinley Wingfield, Jamie Harding, Tucker Wingfield, Maverick Wingfield, Gracelyn Taylor, Brenlyn Wingfield. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Wingfield Family Cemetery with Pastor Mike Gallimore officiating. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
