Audrey Elvira Angle, of Rocky Mount, passed away on Sunday, Nov 11, 2012. She was born to the late Warrior and Ada Hodges and in addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Alpheus N. (Runt) Angle and sister Ruby McAlexander and brother -in-law Buren McAlexander.
Mrs. Angle is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte Knowles and Lee Knowles of Lakeland, FL and son and daughter -in-law, Dr. Al N. Angle, II and Sharon Angle of Union Hall, VA. She is also survived by five grandchildren, Kenny Knowles (Holly), Coury Knowles (Janice), Jessica Mitchell (Chas), Nathan Angle (Callie), and Whitney Colaprete (Adrian): her great grandchildren, Hunter Knowles, Ethan Knowles, and Charlie Mitchell. Also surviving are nieces Mitzi Noble (Paul) and Patti Hunt (Ewell) and great nephews Michael and Jimmy Noble and great niece, Ashley Hunt.
Special thanks is extended to her caretaker and friend, Mr. Freddy Peters. Also Dr. Francis Amos and staff, as well as the staff of Emeritus in Salem and Bruce Tuttle, Pastor of Rocky Mount United Methodist Church for his faithful visits.
Mrs. Angle was the first office manager for Drs. Saxon, Angle and Assoc. Optometrists for over 30 years and was a lifelong member of the Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, where she served actively in many roles in the church during her membership. She was one of the founders of the Franklin County Chamber of Commerce and received the honored Marshall Flora award for her service in the chamber and passion as a citizen of the town of Rocky Mount and Franklin County. A loving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she will be remembered for her leadership, keen sense of humor, intelligence and excellent cooking skills. Funeral services will be conducted at Rocky Mount Methodist Church, 11:00 a.m. Thursday with Rev. Bruce Tuttle officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Rocky Mount United Methodist Church, 35 N. Main St. Rocky Mount, Va. 24151. Her family will receive friends 5:00 til 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
