B. Donald "Donnie" Beard

B. Donald "Donnie" Beard, age 66 of Glade Hill, passed away Friday August 8, 2014. Donnie was a former member of the Rocky Mount Lodge #201 A.F. & A.M. He never met a stranger, was a great conversationalist who loved the outdoors, fishing, hunting and shooting. Donnie was preceded in death by his father, Buford Beard, brother-in-law, Glenn Roberts, Jr., father-in-law, Tillie Brooks. Surviving are his wife Barbara Gail Beard, daughter and son-in-law; Kelley Beard Hatchett and James M. Hatchett, grandson, Coleman Hatchett, granddaughter, Julianne Hatchett all of Jacksonville, NC; mother, Alma Beard, Harrisburg, NC, sister Barbara Roberts, nephew, Bo Roberts all of Greenville, SC, brother and sister-in-law, Ronnie Beard and Lisa Beard, nephews, Jared, Jordon and Jonathan Beard all of Burlington, NC, sister and brother-in-law; Debra and Anthony Davis, nephews Michael and Stephen, niece, Emily Davis all of Harrisburg, NC, mother-in-law; Barbara Brooks, brother-in-law and wife; Keith Brooks and Jana Brooks, nephew, Zack Brooks, sister-in-law and husband, Sue and James Gregory of Salem, VA, sister-in-law and husband Mitzie and Jai Isear, nephews Brooks, Harrison and Jackson all of Wilmington NC, special cousin, Patricia Tyree and his cat, Katie. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Glade Hill Baptist Church Building Fund or Glade Hill Vol. Rescue Squad. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 p.m. Monday at Glade Hill Baptist Church with Rev. David Long officiating. Interment will follow in the Glade Hill Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
