Barbara Elizabeth Amos Brown Cannaday of Burnt Chimney was born in Franklin County on February 1, 1935 and departed into heaven on June 13, 2022 at the age of 87 after a recent decline in health. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lizzie and Phillip Amos; brothers, Wayne Amos and Thomas G. Amos (Barbara); sisters, Mary Brown (Dood) and Lottie Dudley Clarke (Bill); and nephew, Jerry Wayne Amos. Surviving are her husband, Richard L. Cannaday; daughter, Patricia B. Hunley (Shot); grandchildren, Lori Hunley Adams (Chad) and Jason S. Hunley (Viv); great-grandchildren, Tyler Adams and Madelyn “Maddie” Adams; sister, Gail Melton (Bill); sisters-in-law, Joyce Anne Wilder (Don), Georgie Brown, Marie Shively; nephews, Randy Sink (Christine), Danny Sink (Pam), Jerry Dudley (Pattie), Bobby Amos (Patty), Donnie Amos (Genie), Ronnie Amos (Wanda), and Jimmy Amos (Ashley); nieces, Denise Metts (Steve), Dana Shelburne, Susan Webb (Bruce), Lisa Brown, Vicki Alderman (Mike), Shanna Blackwell (Steve); and many great-nieces and nephews. She struggled thru many health issues and fought strongly thru each one to recover. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, just beautiful inside and out. Barbara was a strong and faithful member of Mt. Ivy Christian Church and cherished each and every family member and special friend she fellowshipped with. She loved to cook and bake for the church and was well known for her five flavor pound cake. She loved to collect cookbooks and look through them daily for something special to catch her eye. Barbara always was thinking of others and willing to lend a helping hand for those in need. She looked forward to going shopping, especially for clothes for herself and others and loved having the mail run each day to get one of her many catalogues that she could shop from while at home. She will truly be missed by everyone. Funeral services will be held at Flora Funeral Chapel, 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 18, 2022 with Minister Steve Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Mt.
