Barbara Marie Babiak

Barbara Marie Babiak, age 81 of Roanoke and formerly of Moneta, passed away Tuesday, January 2, 2024. She was born October 15, 1942 a daughter of the late James and Theresa Brown. Barbara was a member of The Sisters of St. Joseph 1960-1968 in Long Island, New York. She was also a member of Our Lady of Nazareth Parish, Roanoke and very active at Resurrection Catholic Church, Moneta prior to relocating to Roanoke. Barbara retired from AT&T with 25 years of service and was an avid gardener and loved horses. Surviving are her husband of 43 years, Gregory Babiak; son, James Babiak (Melissa); granddaughter, Amelia; her beloved horse, Abby Rose and a very close friend of over 50 years, Fredda Lawless. A Memorial Funeral Mass will be held 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 5, 2024 at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church with Monsignor Patrick Golden officiating. Inurnment will take place at Resurrection Catholic Church Columbarium. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Friday at the church.
