Barbara Buckner Cundiff

Barbara Buckner Cundiff, born November 18, 1931, was lifted peacefully from this life to her eternal heavenly home on November 2, 2021. Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Jason “Jack” Cundiff, Sr; longtime companion E. C. Crouch, parents Beard and Buena Buckner, brothers Benny, Jack, Fred and Kenneth Buckner, sister Linda Mountcastle and son-in-law Paul Holland, Jr. Here to hold dear her memory are her children Jason (Pat) Cundiff, Jr., Ann (Bob Pack) Cundiff and Donna Holland; grandchildren Jackie (Devon McKibbin) Saul, Abby (James Lundy) Cundiff, Ellen (Victor) Hazi, Jason “Fuzz” (Macy) Cundiff, and great-grandson Gatlin Jack Cundiff; sister Veneda (Ralph) Leslie; sister-in-law Doris Buckner, and many nieces and nephews; lifelong dear friend Nannie Tyree Stanley and dear friend and caregiver Adelia Long.

For 32 years, Barbara owned and operated alongside her daughter Donna, Longview Restaurant. She, and her family still today, have enjoyed listening as past patrons shared memories of what had been their favorite recipes and special times at Longview.

The family wishes to extend our heartfelt gratitude to Heart and Hands (Helen Cooper and Cristie Hodges) for their compassionate and loving care of our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and our sincere appreciation to Carilion Franklin County Hospice and Dr. Gregory Stidham.

A celebration of Barbara’s life will be at Beulah Baptist Church in Sontag on Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. with the family receiving friends one hour before the service. Interment will follow the service at Franklin Memorial Park.
