Barbara Jane Edwards

Barbara Edwards, age 70 of Ferrum went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, December 25, 2010. God saw her growing weary and did what he thought best. He wrapped his arms around her and whispered, come and rest. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Johnny and Bernice Minton; and sister, Virginia Minton. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Erin Edwards; three daughters and sons-in-law, Patty and Butch Moran, Robin and Pee Wee Davis, Cheryl and Don Elkins; ten grandchildren, Lorrie (Chris) Cole, Melissa (Brad) Anderson, Rebecca (Mike) Yopp, Jason Edwards, Kristy Edwards, Devin Edwards, Brett Davis, Brooke Davis, Chris Elkins, Dylan Elkins; 15 great-grandchildren; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Linda and Buren Mullins, Shirley and Gene Clifton, Hazel and Jim Lynch; four special nieces and nephews; and seven great-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Tuesday with Minister Mickey Witcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Minton Family Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Carilion Hospice of Franklin County or Mount Pleasant Christian Church. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Monday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
