Barbara Mitchell

Barbara Jean Mitchell, 76, the most loving and giving person in the world, went to be with the Lord on January 5, 2015. She was the daughter of the late James and Mattie Anderson, and the widow of Melvin Levi Mitchell. She was also preceded in death by brothers infant George Anderson, Fred Anderson (wife Lena), Radford Anderson and Paul Anderson and brother in law Eugene Hodges.

She is survived by son Ricky Mitchell (Crosstie) and Lisa; two sisters Katherine Pinckard (Cordell) and Louise Hodges; two brothers Richard Anderson (Katie) and Tom Anderson (Nellie); sister in law Ellen Anderson; many nieces, nephews, great- nieces, great- nephews and many loving friends.

She was a long standing member Doe Run Christian Church and will be missed by many. Funeral Services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel, 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 8, 2015 officiated by Rev. Michael Stump. Interment will follow at the Anderson Family Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Doe Run Christian Church.

Friends may call on the family an hour before the service at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
