Beatrice Laprade

Beatrice Susan McGuire LaPrade, age 65 of Rocky Mount went to be with the Lord Tuesday, July 23, 2013 following a long battle with cancer. She was born February 11, 1948 and was preceded in death by her father, Lewis H. McGuire; step-father and mother, Clyde and Valera Bobbitt; and sister, Lois Jeanette Bobbitt. Surviving are her husband, James E. "Jim" LaPrade; son, Michael B. Agee, Jr.; step-daughter, Marcia Hall and husband Ray; step-son, Steve LaPrade; six step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis Robertson and husband Marion "Boots", June Cook and husband Roger; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wendell McGuire and wife Margaret, Glenn McGuire and wife Darlene; Beverly Bobbitt and wife Teri; numerous nieces, nephews, grand-nieces, grand-nephews, other family members and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Thursday with Pastor Melvin Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Wednesday with her family receiving friends 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
