Belinda Jean Walker

On February 9, 2023, our beloved wife & mother Belinda Jean Walker went to her heavenly home to be with the Lord. Born August 1, 1950 (72), Belinda was born and raised in Penhook Va, where she continued to live. There, she raised her family, acted as a dedicated member of Cool Springs Christian Church, and stayed a true friend to all those that knew her. When she wasn’t tending to her garden, you might have found her listening to bluegrass and enjoying the quiet of Franklin County. Belinda loved to flatfoot but most enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Preceding her in death is her father, Harry Blankenship. She is survived by the love of her life and husband of 52 years, Philip Dale Walker; daughters, Serina Walker, Misty Mollin (Erik Mollin), and Jessica Scalf (Jessie Scalf); grandchildren, Hannah, Ryan, Ava, and Brayden; step-grandchildren, Kala Scalf and Emily Scalf; great-grandchildren, Laci, Laila, Lexi, and Declan; mother, May Blankenship; brother, Eugene Blankenship (Liz Blankenship) and sisters, Sandra Burnopp (David Burnopp) and Tina McConnell (Keith McConnell). She was loved by many nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be conducted at Cool Springs Christian Church, 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2023 with Bro. Brian Vaughn officiating. Interment will follow in the Walker Family Cemetery. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Arrangements by Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
