Bertha Whitlow Furrow

Bertha Whitlow Furrow, age 84 of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, April 21, 2010. She was born June 15, 1925 a daughter of the late Emmitt and Dolly Whitlow. She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Stafford Furrow. Mrs. Furrow was a member of Providence Baptist Church. Surviving are her two sons, Wray Furrow and wife Brenda, Calvin Furrow and wife Cyndi; three daughters, Sandra Blackstock and husband Joe, Pat Caldwell and husband Jim, Goldie Potter and husband Andy; two brothers, James Henry Whitlow and wife Jean, Amos Whitlow and wife Nancy; one sister, Joyce Nadine Nelson; grandchildren and spouses, Greg and Whitney, Brad and Angela, Tony and Loretta, Jeffrey and Sylvia, Cindy and Jason, Amber, Tiffany and Tommy, Nikki and Brad, Cody, Jessica and Michael, Kasey; 17 great-grandchildren; and special friend and caregiver, Amanda Richardson. Graveside services will be conducted from Pigg River Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery 2 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday with her family receiving friends from 6-8 p.m. at Flora Funeral & Cremation Service, Rocky Mount and other times at the home of Wray and Brenda Furrow, 25 Oak Leaf Lane, Rocky Mount.
