Betty Preston Bower

Betty Preston Bower, age 79 of Rocky Mount died Thursday, January 10, 2013. She was preceded in death by her parents, Alvah and Etta Preston; and her husband, Douglas Bower. Surviving are her children, Robin Hodges (Peco), Rona Bower, Mark Bower; grandchildren, Tiffany and Tyler; sister, Nat Hafenbridle (Lawrence); numerous nieces and nephews. Betty was a member of Redwood United Methodist Church. She was a loving mother, wife and grandmother who will be missed. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday with Rev. Bradley S. Dulaney officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family requests no food and in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
