Betty Ann Brewer

Betty Ann Brewer, age 88 of Moneta died Sunday, March 19, 2017. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, M. Carey Brewer. Surviving are her children, Beth Huggins, Rob Brewer (Karen), Ruth Ann Cassell and Cathie Daniel; her grandchildren, Carey, Katie, Molly, Jeanette, Elizabeth and Davis; great-grandson, Brewer. Betty Ann worked faithfully alongside her husband Carey during his career with the Federal government and later as the “First Lady” while Carey served as President of Lynchburg College from 1964 to 1983. Betty Ann was a longtime member of First Christian Church and active in community events. She and her husband retired to Smith Mountain Lake in 1984. Private family memorial services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Lynchburg College Brewer Scholarship Fund, Lynchburg VA 24501.
