Betty Lou Jones

Betty Lou Jones, age 48 of Rocky Mount died Wednesday, February 29, 2012. She was preceded in death by her sister, Janet Anita Stump. Betty was born July 17, 1963 to A.J. and Joyce Jones. Also surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Ann and Wayne Nichols; brother and sister-in-law, Joey and Michelle Jones; nephews, Allen Davis and wife Tabitha, Adam Nichols; great-nieces and nephews that she loved as her own grandchildren, Lili, William, and Emily Davis, Thaydon and Lauryn Nichols; special friends, Martha Pagans that she loved like a sister, Mildred Pagans, Frances Lynch, Irla Whitlow, Dee and Norman Moore, Louise Marshall, Maggie Dudley, Judy and Wayne Furrow; all the staff at Sontag School and everyone who prayed for her and her family. She will be loved and missed by all that knew her. Betty had a kind heart full of love for her children, friends and family. Funeral services will be conducted from Henry Fork Church of the Brethren 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Kirby Phillips and Pastor Ronald Coleman officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Henry Fork Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Relay for Life or the American Cancer Society.
