Betty Marie Midkiff

Betty Marie Midkiff, 66, of Ferrum, died Saturday, May 28, 2011. She was born April 12, 1945, a daughter of the late Bennie Wright and Alian Wright Frith. She was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Harry Frith; and brothers, Ernest, J.B. and Reed Wright. She was a member of New Hope United Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband of 49 years, Troy Midkiff; son, Chester Midkiff and fiancée, Laurie Basham; brothers, Roy, Coy (Maddie), Fred (Linda), Paul Wright; sisters, Myrtle Midkiff, Jean (Carl) Lovingood; mother-in-law, Ethel Midkiff; special cousin, Maggie Robertson; special friends, Dot Underwood and Edith Mae Jarrett; several nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Betty was a loving wife, mother, and friend to all she met. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday with the Rev. Walter Hughes and the Rev. Pat Collins officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Clearview Cemetery. Her family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
