Betty Shorter Nichols

Betty Shorter Nichols, age 69 of Callaway passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013. Betty was a prayer warrior for her church family. She was a great mother and wife. She was born July 14, 1944 a daughter of the late Thomas and Ethel Shorter and was also preceded in death by her siblings, James Luther, Nancy, Earl, Mary Lee and Alice Mae; and daughter, Donna. Surviving are her husband of 51 years, Fletcher Nichols; daughters and son-in-law, Teresa Nichols, Tammy and Ernest Brown; adopted grandson, Montgomery Clifford Hensley; two sisters, Hilda Caldwell, Debbie Shorter; numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Funeral services will be conducted from Evangelistic House of Prayer 2 p.m. Friday with Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will follow in the Yopp Family Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted or memorials may be made to your local church. Her family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
