Beula Belle Abshire Davis, 91, was welcomed to her heavenly home on January 6, 2017. Her devotion to her family and her firm belief in God gave her peace. She passed away at her home surrounded by her family.

She was predeceased by the love of her life, her beloved husband, Byron Junior Davis in 1981.

Beula was born in Boones Mill, VA on October 14, 1925 to Robert D. and Mary Barnhart Abshire. She was predeceased by her two sisters, Delia Jane Gross and Daris Abshire, and four brothers, Jennings, Elbert, Gilbert, and Dallas Abshire. Throughout her life she maintained a sweet and simple demeanor that won the trust and hearts of many, who even now are being changed by her witness of constant nurturing love and faith lead by the Lord.

Beula leaves her daughter, Elaine Davis Vestal and son-in-law Thomas Coye Vestal, two grand-daughters, Kelly Leigh Chitwood and fiancé Andre Anastase Vonsiatsky, and Jennifer Lynn Chitwood and husband Jeffery Samuel Stump to cherish her loving memory.

She is also survived by her dearest friends Clinton and Gladys Barbour, and the family of Willie and Evelyn Sink.

Beula loved reading her bible and spending time with family. She always had a smile on her face. She was a loving and caring person, always thinking of others first. She had a generous heart and was always giving to others. She was a woman of strong faith, believing in the power and strength of Jesus Christ’s love and the beauty and peace that would await her after her passing.

Beula is dearly missed by her loved ones, who celebrate the fact that she is at peace with her creator. She has finished her work here. She has left a fine example of how to live by her words and actions. She can now rest in peace. She has now come to the time for which she lived. This is not the end, but the beginning. Our comfort lies in the truth…. “Blessed are the dead which die in the Lord.” Yes, Beula has resting to do. But her works will follow in ways that cannot be overlooked. Her presence was a powerful inspiration and her memory also!

"Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth: Yea, saith the Spirit that they may rest from their labors, for their deeds follow them" (Revelation 14:13)
