Marie Shaddix Eubank (Nanny Rie), age 75 of Glade Hill passed away Saturday, May 12, 2007 at Franklin Healthcare in Rocky Mount.
She was born July 4, 1931 in Eakly, Oklahoma. She met Edward Hoover Eubank of Buchanan while he was stationed at Fort Sill Oklahoma while in the U.S. Army. They married December 4, 1948. She is preceded by William Steven and Eula Alta Shaddix mother and father; husband, Edward Eubank; brothers Bill and Bob Shaddix; sisters, Jean and Syble; half sisters, Velma and Lola; half brother, Zeb; baby sister, Judy Coleene. Surviving are two brothers, Kenneth and wife Billie Shaddix of Texarkansas, Carl and wife Va. Shaddix of Wellington, Kansas; one sister, Cora Margorette Ostrander and husband Lauren of Wellington, Kansas; half brother, Clarence Shaddix of Arizona; two daughters and spouses, Linda and John Lumsden, Glade Hill, Va., Penny and Allen Guilliams, Hardy, Va.; three grandchildren, Curtis D. Martin, Jr. and wife Angie, Angela Martin Price, Glade Hill, Va. Remington Lee Guilliams, Hardy, Va.; four great-grandchildren, Caitlin and Christa Price, Miranda and Bryce Martin; step-grandchildren, Tanner Lindley and Robert Dillion; many nieces and nephews, church friends at Furnace Creek Baptist Church, very special nephew, Robert Eubank of Texas.
Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park 2 p.m. Monday with dear friends Rev. Mike Lawhorn and Byron Perdue officiating.
There will be no visitation.
