Bill Ross, August 25, 1934 - April 5 2010, Bill passed away peacefully after a courageous 5 year battle with prostate cancer. Bill was born in Ferrum, VA and was a long time resident of Franklin County on the Blackwater
River. He was one of three children born to the late Posey and Eva Ross and was the
beloved husband of Suzanne Davis Ross for 50 years. Bill will forever be remembered by his devoted brother David Ross and loving sisters Rebecca Ross
and Margaret Bird, beloved children and spouses Bob and Gina Ross, Doug and Jennifer Ross, Mike and Sheryl Ross and Brian and Michele Walter, and treasured grandchildren Kaitlyn, Haley, Andrew, Caroline, Ross, Alex, Belle and Bethany and countless other friends and family whom were blessed to know
him. Bill enjoyed many careers, including 30 years as a banking executive. He was an IMSA and Formula Vee sanctioned competitor, and a ski instructor at Snowshoe, an organizer with the Commonwealth Games, Rotary and Chamber of Commerce member, and a Trustee of Ferrum College, supporter of Virginia
Tech, host at the Roanoke Mountain Campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway, and starter at the Canaan Valley Resort golf course. Bill & Suzanne spent the
last 12 years traveling the country in their Winnebago Adventurer and enjoying summers in Davis, WV. Bill loved life, being outdoors, hiking, traveling, rebuilding cars & being with his family and friends. Friends and family are invited to attend a visitation on Friday April 9, from 6-8 pm at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount, Virginia
