Bill Wilder

Bill Wilder, age 71 of Roanoke died Tuesday, February 21, 2012. He retired from Lionberger Construction Company, operated A-1 Flea Market and enjoyed gardening and fixing things. Born in Lee County, Virginia a son of the late Claude and Hazel B. Wilder, he was also preceded in death by his two brothers, Harve and Johnny Wilder; four sisters, Georgia Stidham, Flora Mines, Shirley Harvel and Barbara Tipton. Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Ruby B. Wilder; two sons, Les (Robin) Wilder, Richard (Laura) Wilder; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, Claude Wilder, Jr.; and four sisters, Amy Stidham, Norma Jarigan, Wanda Martin and Robin Hurst. Funeral services will be conducted from Flora Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Saturday with Rev. Leonard Castleman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6-8 p.m. Friday at Flora Funeral Service & Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
