Billie Elizabeth Cannaday (Kirk), formerly Billie Dunaway, age 92 of Callaway, Virginia, died Saturday, July 20, 2013. Surviving are her daughter, Mary E. Richardson and her life-partner Rhonda of Callaway, Virginia; son, Larry J. Dunaway of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; brother, Robert L. Kirk of Tulsa, Oklahoma; 5 Grandsons, Todd B. Dunaway of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Dustin T. Dunaway of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Aaron D. Todd of Conway, Arkansas, Matthew A. Richardson of Hornell, New York and Cody J. Richardson of Callaway, Virginia, two granddaughters, Marlena R. Williams of Callaway, Virginia and Jessica R. Richardson of Canisteo, New York, 12 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents William L. (Bill) and Mary L. (McAnally) Kirk, her husband Carl, a WW-II Veteran; one sister, Ruby Alice (Kirk) Casebeer of Owasso, Oklahoma; one brother, Jack D. Kirk of Eufaula, Oklahoma, one brother-in law, James D. (Jim) Casebeer, two sister-in-laws who were more like sisters, Laura Miller Kirk (wife of Jack) and Deanne Bickel Kirk (wife of Robert, and one precious grandson Clint B. Dunaway. Billie was born on a farm at the foot of Lutheran Hill, the former site of Fred Jones Ford. Her parents ran the K-Bar Ranch, one of the first dairy farms in Broken Arrow. She was a 1939 graduate of Broken Arrow High School. Billie began her career as a switchboard operator with the Oral Roberts Evangelistic Association in Tulsa. She then became his personal secretary for a time before the opening of Oral Roberts University at which time she began her job as a Prayer Warrior in the Prayer Tower ministering to and praying with others by phone. Services will be held in Broken Arrow at a later date and will be private. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to assist with final arrangements and her return home to Broken Arrow may be made c/o Mary Richardson, 790 Factory hill Road, Callaway, VA 24067.
