Billie C. Wright

Billie C. Wright, 68, of Rocky Mount, passed away at home on Wednesday, October 12 ^th after a long battle with cancer, with his loving family by his side.  Born September 11, 1954, he was the son of the late Harry D. and Lillie M. (Preston) Wright. He is survived by his wife, Gladys; sons, Jason Wright and wife Leeann; Brent Wright and former daughter-in-law Amber, all of Rocky Mount; step-children, Cindy Wright and husband Chris of Rocky Mount, and Edward Webb, Jr. and wife Lisa of Redwood; sisters, Ethel Tritapoe of Georgetown, DE, and Lois Harden of Boones Mill; a half-brother, Terry Wright and wife Christie of Rocky Mount; five grandchildren; five step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, James, Nelson and Johnny Wright and sisters, Edith Davis and Betsy Hodges. Billie was a graduate of Franklin County High School and employed as a mechanic for 31 years with Doughton Auto Services. He loved the Lord and was a faithful member of Faith Fellowship Church, Wirtz. He loved camping, grilling, gardening, Nascar, helping others and spending time with family. Funeral services will be conducted at Faith Fellowship Church (100 Wirtz Rd., Wirtz, VA), 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 17, 2022 with Pastor Gary Hoffman officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. His family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Sunday at Faith Fellowship Church.
