Billy Ray Cole

Billy Ray Cole, age 73 of Boones Mill passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2016. He was born February 10, 1943. He was preceded in death by his son, Danny Ray Cole; foster mother Nannie Hinkle; birth mother Grace L. Compton; sister, Fannie Pope of New Castle, Delaware. Billy was a Dairyman from 1958 until 2016 and was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren. Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Louise M. Cole; son Calvin Cole of Rocky Mount; daughters and son-in-law, Teresa C. Myers (Richard) of Callaway, Betty C. Rose of Patrick County; special hunting buddy who he thought of as a son, Ernest Brown; grandchildren Amy M. Hall (Henry), Ashley E. Myers, Grace Burge, Rachel Cook (Matt), Kim Caldwell (Mike), April R. Howell (Adam) and Victoria R. Byrd; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Barbara Lloyd of Middletown, Delaware; many nieces, nephews and his working crew at the farm who will follow his memory. The family respectfully requests no food at the home. Funeral services will be conducted at Flora Funeral Chapel 11 a.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 with Pastor Richard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park. His family will receive friends 6-8 pm Friday at Flora Funeral Service and Cremation Center, Rocky Mount.
