Billy Joe Hood

Billy Joe Hood, age 59, of Rocky Mount went home to be with the Lord Monday November 15, 2021. He was born November 22, 1961 in Rocky Mount, Va a son of Walter and Betty Jean Hood. Billy was a painter for many years. Billy was preceded in death by his father, Walter “Alex” Hood; maternal grandparents, Willie Hodges (Maude); paternal grandparents, Jack Hood (Mary); brother, Barry Hood; sisters, Tammy Hodges, Angela Dudley; nephew, Scott Cundiff; great-nephew, Thomas Berg. Surviving are his wife Shirley Hood of Rocky Mount and her children Shannon Pugh, Cj Hodges her grandchildren Tyler Pugh, Cali Pugh, Sierra Hodges ; great-grandchildren Julian Alvarez, Gabriella Alvarez; his very special dog, Coco; mother, Betty Jean Hood of Glade Hill; brother, Bobby Joe Hood (Phyllis) of Lynchburg; sister, Bonnie Altice (Rickey) of Glade Hill; brother-in-law, Jimmy Dale Hodges of Rocky Mount; niece, Crystal Berg; nephews, Darrell Hodges, Walter Dudley (Leanna), Brandon Altice (Kristen), Otis Dudley (Josey), Caleb Hood; great-nieces, Nicole Berg, Zoe Berg; great-nephews, Cameron White, Malachi Nelson, Jason Altice, Jacob Altice.

Family will receive visitors at the home of Bonnie and Rickey Altice at 185 Greenhouse Rd Glade Hill, Va 24092.

A graveside service will be held at the Hall Family Cemetery, 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 20, 2021 with Pastor Ron Coleman officiating.
