Billy Cleveland Hurt

Billy Cleveland Hurt, Sr. age 82 of Boones Mill passed from this earthly life on Friday, August 3, 2012. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl Thomas and Mary Long Hurt and his brother, Carl Thomas Hurt, Jr.. He is survived by his devoted wife of sixty four years, Edith Marene Shealor Hurt; children, Michael Stephen Hurt (Mary), Tony Allen Hurt (Dreama), Dixie Lee Hurt Shearer and Billy Cleveland Hurt, Jr. (Mary); grandchildren, Stephen (Kelly), Amanda, Travis, Kate, and Carter; great-grandchildren, Brian and Emily; brothers, Kent Bentley Hurt and John Berkley Hurt. Daddy enjoyed numerous adventures traveling as a truck driver throughout the eastern United States. He loved his horses, bluegrass music, farming, and dancing. He considered hard work a virtue and taught his children accordingly. He was a member of Isaac’s Lodge #29 A.F. & A.M.. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2012 at Red Hill Baptist Church with Pastor Leonard Martin presiding. His family will receive friends at the family home in Boones Mill.
