Billy Giles Johnson

Billy G. Johnson, age 77 born March 9, 1931 went to be with his Lord on the 19th day of February 2009. He was preceded in death by his parents, Roy and Annie Johnson; brothers, Berkley and Frank Johnson. Surviving are his wife, Bernice Johnson of 58 years of marriage. Also surviving are one brother, Doug Johnson and wife Ernestine; two nieces, Sue Secrest and husband Duke, Michelle Page and friend Danny; nephew, Gary Johnson and friend Trish. He was a member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church for 50 years. He also retired from M&W Manufacturers with several years of service. Billy had some special friends, Byron Perdue, Ray Vernon, Larry McCarty and friends at McDonald’s. A lot of thanks to Fork Mountain Rest Home and Dr. Bumgardner. Graveside services will be conducted from Franklin Memorial Park 3 p.m. Saturday with Pastor Mike Lawhorn and Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Furnace Creek Baptist Church or to the American Cancer Society. His family will be receiving friends from 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Saturday at Flora Funeral Service, 665 South Main Street, Rocky Mount.
